About the event
Clarence Jones is a versatile and gifted musician and educator. He has received local, national and international recognition as a virtuoso performer on the organ and piano. Audiences are especially receptive to his improvisational style of performing in various genres of music. He also served here locally as John S. Dawson High School and St. Francisville High music teacher.
In 1976, He organized HERITAGE, a choral ensemble dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Negro Spiritual. He has directed HERITAGE in concerts and cultural programs throughout the country and on a European Tour in 1990. He has served as clinician for many workshops and as an adjudicator for various piano festivals.
